Jennifer Prasertwaree Kim
Jennifer Prasertwaree Kim, also known as Jenn PK, is a multi-style vocalist, violist, pianist, and composer. She is a scholarship student at Berklee College of Music, where she is studying Electronic Production and Design. She works in a wide variety of genres, including classical/orchestral, musical theatre, cinematic/soundtrack, rock, and metal. She began her journey in music at the age of 5 with piano and music theory lessons from Debbie Gerrity, with whom she continued studying with for 13 years. These years were spent studying classical repertoire, with a special affinity for the more dramatic and powerful pieces. Jenn was able to transfer this particular passion to voice when she started focusing more on improving her singing at the age of 16, although she never took any formal lessons until she came to Berklee in 2014. Her main avenue of sharing her voice and improving was her YouTube channel, which now has almost 10,000 subscribers, and was a place to find international collaborations. Throughout her teen years, she took part in all types of music ensembles, including county symphonic orchestras and bands, pit orchestras for musicals, jazz ensembles, and marching band, which now serve as a vast resource for composing. Jenn is the vocalist of the newly formed symphonic progressive metal band Altiom, who is now working on their first album. Apart from singing, she has composed scores and done sound design for short films and video games. Outside of music, Jenn loves video games, delving into art theory and spiritual/religious studies, painting, and spending time with cats.
